Bartini was founded in 2015 by several Russian entrepreneurs. The startup is named after the famous Italian aircraft designer Robert Ludvigovich Bartini, a committed Communist who fled to the USSR from the Nazis in the 20s of the last century. In Soviet Russia, the Italian created dozens of promising aircraft and survived the repression: he was accused of spying for Mussolini, but not rotted in the camps, and was given to work and rehabilitated after the death of Stalin.

Bartini combines the advantages of a quadrocopter, a "flying wing"and a tiltrotor. The device is equipped with four twin rotors driven by electric motors. It takes off and lands vertically, like a quadrocopter, but after gaining altitude, the rotors turn perpendicular to the body, and the Bartini flies like an airplane, at a fairly decent speed (200 km/h for the prototype).

It is assumed that the serial air taxi will be able to take up to 4 people on Board and will be equipped with blockchain technology, that is, the smart car will find and select passengers, calculate flight routes and take care of timely charging and maintenance. Accordingly, after the mass influx of such air cars to Russian cities, ordinary cars and public transport will not be needed and will go to the dump of history, and everyone will immediately forget about traffic jams as a terrible dream.

"Flying on tokens is like driving on gasoline in a normal car. The user makes a transaction in tokens from their wallet to the machine's wallet, which in turn makes a transaction to the electric gas station. The cost of a flight is determined by an open algorithm that takes into account supply and demand, as well as the consumption of operating materials," the company explained the principle of operation of air taxi on the blockchain.

Such configuration, heritage of the Soviet aviation, forms the DNA of our aircraft and promises high energy efficiency, redundancy and smaller footprint. It will result in better accessibility and lower operational costs both on the ground and in flight.
